Obama has started yet another war in the Middle East. I thought these were the smart people. You know, the ones that would not have started the first two. I mean, at least with Iraq you had a country that was violating, daily, the terms of the war treaty after Kuwait and Afghanistan was the training grounds for 911. But Libya? What in the world are we doing firing million dollar missiles at that country for? There are no lessons learned at all from Iraq?

And it can't be the oil. This President has done everything imaginable to slow down oil in the US.

Obama's own words from 2002:

"Now let me be clear – I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity.

He’s a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history."

What?

A lot of people were against Obama being elected because they believed he has no moral compass at all. At least it's safe to say, we do not have enough information on his background to draw conclusions as to his morality and ideology. And apparently, you cannot even refer to his spoken words for clues!

If you are one of the people that voted for this joker you have to be stunned. I mean I'm stunned and I think this guy can do no right. But an attack on Libya is beyond comprehension.

The only explanation I have is this:

Obama is certainly Eurocentric. His vision for America is to remake us in the image of Socialist Europe. You cannot deny this. And the Europeans are, for some crazy reason, in favor of this debacle. So Obama is going down the road with his European coalition to rid the world of a ruthless dictator. I haven't seen anyone involved even try to guess as to how this will end.

Absolutely amazing.

Obama Outsources His Job

In the latest "what are these idiots in DC doing" moment, the President has announced he is in favor of hiring a team of people to make the tough decisions (though they will only end up being recommendations) concerning the huge financial mess that the government has made. Read about it here in the NY Times, which is about as soft peddle of this as can be done.

The Reader's Digest version of this story goes like this. The President wants to raise the US debt ceiling by 1.92 trillion dollars (yes thats $1,920,000,000,000) and he desires some political cover. He thinks that announcing a commission will make the people happy for 9 months and continue to vote for the same Hope and Change. Remember back when there was a Tea Party rally in DC and the President said he really wasn't paying attention?

This commission will, of course, only increase the cost of government as we know right now they will accomplish nothing and their salaries and staff salaries must be paid making the problem worse.

Obama has announced a "New Era of Responsibility". I guess this means call for a doubling of the national debt in five years and then form a commission to attempt to rig the 2010 fall elections for cover.

Hope and Change? And it's officially historic.

Yes, history is being made while you wait. With only 60 Senators in their Caucus the Democrats have been able to win a vote in the United States Senate. And oh boy, it is helping to "move the debate" on Health Care. How do they do it you ask? This surely is pulling a rabbit out of their...hat. You have to marvel at the strong leadership we see from great leaders like...Harry Reid. He's making history after all. And surely, there were no shennanigans getting all 60 Democrats to vote this way. These guys and gals hold America and our Constitution is such high esteem. Honestly, I get a tear in my eye each time I see Harry Reid heading into the Senate.

And the History being made. My gosh! Yet another entitlement in the making, in the land of the free (loaders) and the home of the brave (government).

Higher taxes, reduced freedom, greater government dependency, and greater deficits. How do they do it? It's historic! Makes you proud to be an American, huh?

Setting out with a goal of reducing health care costs they now have a plan. They are not quite meeting the goal of reducing Health Care costs but hey, it's only your money. Not theirs. After all, they are, and will remain so, exempt from any changes in their health care coverage and costs. It's historic!!! Normally, you know, they suffer right along with the rest of us when they create a historic mess with legislation.

And the greatest part of all. They claim it will reduce the deficit. I love that part. Our government is soooooo good at reducing the deficit that here they are, doing it yet again!!! They really have the people in the mind. And of course, it's historic!

On the plus side, yet another reason not to go to work. Let's see, your taxes go up, health care costs go up.... if you go to work. Why do it? History in the making you say? Read the headlines. Everywhere proclaiming this to be historic. It must be true. The media is saying it. You know, the public watchdog.

I just love history. Remember the last presidential campaign and how historic it was. This history making is really working out. That popular well thought out stimulus plan. Terrorist now heading to New York City. Terrorists released in the Bahamas. Buying car companies and then paying people to buy cars. More hate crime legislation. 200 tonnes of American gold to India, and not a penny for America. Apologies for our abuse of other countries everywhere. And now on a course to better Health Care. Who would have thought you could cram this much history is so little....time.

Thank god for historic moments like these. In seeking leniency, they pointed out that Mr. Jefferson ascended from humble beginnings to "the nation's finest educational institutions and its highest corridors of power."

Neil H. At first I thought he was getting ready for a Leno or Saturday Night Live appearance.

I have just a few questions for the honorable Mr. Gates:

Do you know what planet you are on?

Do you realize who you work for?

Do you know your boss is moving rapidly to kill missile defense?

Have you given any thought at all as to why North Korea is making such a dramatic "in your face" move at this time?

Do you really believe, like your boss, that simply talking will solve this problem?

Do you really believe, like your boss, that the U.N. has a good chance of solving this problem?

Do you know what "not stand idly by" means because you really are going to do the opposite of that.

Is it fact that you and your boss really have not figured out the failure of the "sanctions" route?

And please, oh please, when you talk to our European allies about getting tough with North Korea, will you kindly post the meeting minutes on the web.

I need a good laugh too.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://observingcommenting.blogspot.com/2009/05/robert-m-gatescloset-comedian.html' title='Robert M. Absolutely incredible. The North Koreans have launched their missile in spite the great orator telling them to not do so.

But look at just the last few days leading up to this event and Obama's response which obviously bears no grip in reality in any way whatsoever.

In the few days prior to the launching of this rocket Obama was in Europe with a grand(standing) meeting with 20 world leaders. He went there with big plans to get them to spend stimulus money. They refused.

He made a strong case for NATO to join us with a larger presence in Afghanistan. They refused.

He then gives some great speech about eliminating all nuclear weapons in the world. Yee Haw. Anyone care to guess how long the US remains the US without our nuclear threat? Oh, he's so smart.

So despite the fact that the US is entirely alone in the world when it comes to defense, Obama issues the following statement upon hearing of the missile launch:

"North Korea broke the rules once again by testing a rocket that could be used for long-range missiles," he said. "Now is the time for a strong international response."
I suppose he still believes in the tooth fairy.

Obama the Labor Expert

Obama signed Executive Orders this week that undo Bush policies concerning Unions. I guess the point is that we should use General Motors as the pattern in shaping labor and business in the United States. The new rules will make it even more difficult for the ever expanding federal government to control the labor practices in federal contracts.

Appearing alongside Joe Biden, a guy who seemingly and rightfully, cannot believe that he has ascended to such heights in his career, Obama signed 3 Executive Orders. In the new changed bipartisan spirit he bashed Bush several times during the signing.

He spoke of “shameful” bonuses for Wall Street bankers but neglected to mention his White House dinner earlier in the week where they (our rulers) served steak that cost the American taxpayer $300 a pound. Imported too! Hurrah for Change!

Certainly it is apparent that this group of elitists are so removed from reality that they cannot make any move that will benefit America. To prove this, they also took the opportunity to remind us of the Pelosi/Obama stimulus package. You know the one that stimulates a march towards a Marxist government? New cars for government workers! Hurray! Condoms for all! New grass on the mall! Change!!

At the same "Turn America into General Motors" gathering, Joe Biden discussed his new role as Middle Class Nanny Czar. According to Joe The Vice President one of the focuses will be "green jobs, those jobs that pay well". Does that mean we all get to own wealthy carbon trading companies like Al Gore?

Obama keeps talking the economy down (you know that thing that Bush was criticized for) but yet every action he takes is towards more destruction of the economy. Of course this was mostly about paying back the people that sent him all that money during the campaign.

Change. Can we survive it?

Week One...Pretty Darn Productive!

I have to admit, this man is way more productive then George Bush ever thought of being. The essence of the story is that Obama's lawyer claims Obama and his staff did nothing wrong. What a shocker, eh? Maybe Blagojevich should just put out an email memo from his attorney saying he did nothing wrong?

Read the report/memo/email here. It is sort of hard to find and you may be disappointed about the information presented. It certainly sounds like it was written by a lawyer as it quite brief. He justifiably seems to be careful not to incriminate Obama and his cronies.

Meanwhile Obama and his future (?) White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel are out of the country and refusing to answer questions. Remember the promise of an open and transparent administration? You would think these guys would look to New York for guidance in this mess and give the darn Senate seat to an unqualified Democrat with the proper name.

There is a lot of talk about cleaning up the corruption in the Chicago rat's nest. There are a lot of Union members griping because yesterday the car bailout failed to pass in the Democrat controlled Senate. The reason it failed? You got it, Republican Senators. You know the minority party in the US Congress.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Led by Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, they asked the auto workers to show they were serious about making Detroit competitive again. In exchange for a lifeline from Washington, Mr. Corker wanted the union to set a "date certain" in 2009 for lowering the Detroit Three's hourly labor costs to the average of foreign-owned auto makers in the U.S. He also wanted creditors to bring down Detroit's total debt by two-thirds through an equity swap, making sure debtholders share the cost of restructuring.
The union's counteroffer was that it would bring down labor costs in 2011, when its current contracts run out. Maybe we missed something, but we thought GM and Chrysler were facing bankruptcy now, not in three years. As Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor, that sounds like "taxpayer money today for reforms that may or may not come tomorrow."

You see, even though the car unions steal millions from their members all year long to campaign against conservative, American principles at each election, the Republicans in the Senate are supposed to prop them up when their share of the business model fails. As of course it must, too.

Yeah, sounds right to me. And of course if you read the stories carefully you will understand that the UAW was unwilling to make any concessions whatsoever to help save their own jobs. If you have been around or in a union environment you know how that works. When they are done talking you would think it was management's idea to have 15,000 people every day (Jobs Bank) doing nothing and making between $100,000 to $140,000 a year.

On other liberal fronts you may notice this one little item in the news. Government at every level is bankrupt. Perhaps this is because we have been too strict in following the Constitution, eh?

If you follow the states that are the most liberal, like California or New York, you will see they are in the worst of trouble. It's not small either too. The amount of money needed to bailout California alone makes the auto bailout look like pocket change. At the end of February they are done. All for the sake of liberal public policies.

Every year since the 1930's our government has played a larger role in our lives. Our freedoms and Constitution have been destroyed in order to have the government running things. The principles behind these "liberal" (The biggest joke is liberals now call themselves Progressives) directions have ruined business, removed our freedoms, and made our future unsafe and uncertain.

True to form, everywhere its been tried, a lot of people are going to suffer in the name of liberalism. And now the wheel is coming off of the liberal cart here in America.

A Kennedy Wants a Senate Seat

Caroline Kennedy is rumored (as reported by all the major media sources) to have an interest in being a United States Senator. The tale is that she would be appointed to the seat vacated by the future Secretary of State, Hillary. Of course the current situation is perfect for her as it would seem a bit much that she would actually campaign and win the seat. After all, she is a Kennedy. And if a Kennedy wants to be a United States Senator then let nothing stand in the way. It is also reported that Robert F. Kennedy Jr is not interested in playing a Senator.

The media of course is all a twitter. You can just imagine the sensations running up and down Chris Matthew's legs.

Of course, unlike a governor running for the Vice President's office, there will be no discussion of qualifications. After all, she is a Kennedy. She will not be quizzed on the capitals of various countries or asked about newspapers that she reads. The dynasty must continue. We are just lucky she has chosen to grace our lives with her inherited abilities to rule the common folk. I suppose if she needs guidance she can always turn to Ted.

And certainly Teddy has been a mouth piece for American justice during his tenure in public life. One cannot be more mesmerized by the infamous Ted Kennedy quote:
"Do we operate under a system of equal justice under law? Or is there one system for the average citizen and another for the high and mighty?"
Certainly that statement has no relevance here as a Kennedy acquires a US Senate seat without an election.

I did notice a blog reporting on the dismal fact that since she cannot be anointed until Hillary resigns, and Hillary is not resigning until the appointment. So she will probably end up being the 100th Senator on the seniority list. Certainly we can hope and pray that there is still some justice in the world and this can be remedied. Perhaps by simply bending the rules. Maybe Papal decree would be in order here. Or go up the ladder one notch to Harry Reid.

Ah, change. What a wonderful thing it is.

The Obama Change

I have to tell you. I don't get it. Certainly this was an election without a choice I could feel really good about, but, voting for Obama is beyond belief. I just do not get it. The clues are everywhere screaming, "Run hard, run fast!!".

Obama's past associations with loads of radical people. The missing gaps in his past history. The media's failure to probe and ask tough question. Heck, the media's cheer leading. The promise of higher taxes. The promise to not drill for oil in America. The Democrat's Party connection to the failure of Freddie and Fannie. Someone please explain why we are not allowed to read his college thesis!! The support of ACORN and their attempt to fix the election. The list goes on and on.

Two events really strike me though and are a certainly a predictor of coming events.

In his first press conference he slams Nancy Reagan. You have to be kidding me. Is Nancy Reagan some kind of threat to him? No. Is he comfortable making partisan attacks? I would say that is a rather obvious yes. In this instance he even invents some wild story about Nancy and seances to fit his slam. Of course he's been getting away with these inventions through the entire election cycle and he got away with this one too. No doubt though, partisan attacks against a former first lady, during a press conferences, truly represents change.

The second event is really troubling. Maybe I'm just sensitive because I live in Ohio, and I am against terrorists. I am speaking of the Democratic Party in Ohio going through the records of Joe Wurzelbacher (Joe the Plumber).

In support of the Obama campaign they participated in the smear by going through all of his state records to try and dig up dirt on Joe. What did Joe do? He wanted to know why working hard is going to be a penalty in the Obama administration and, he had the audacity of hope to put the question directly to Obama.

As if this breach of privacy isn't enough to make you truly angry, you need a little more context. Anyone remember the last 6 years and the outrage over Bush wire tapping the phones of terrorists? Osama has privacy rights, right?

Now we know. Wiretapping the phones of terrorists is bad. Combing the private records of a citizen challenging a presidential candidate is perfectly acceptable.

Fasten your seatbelts folks. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Democrats...Intent on Stealing Ohio Election

Certainly we are seeing an attempt by Democratic groups to steal the election in many of the battleground states across the country. It appears they are having quite a bit of success.

You have undoubtedly heard of the illegal activities of a group called ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) that is conducting fraudulent voter registration, for the purpose of ultimately illegal voting, in many states. This is just one of the groups that is trying to steal the election and they have been quite prominent in Ohio. The group ACORN actually has quite a lengthy record of voter fraud in Ohio. As an added note, the Obama campaign has paid them (ACORN) for these activities. Of further interest, this is an organization of which Obama used to work for.

Another aspect to this story though is the coordination of this attempt to steal the vote by ACORN and other groups with the Democratic Party in charge of the election in Ohio. Specifically Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner who on Thursday (10/9) has yet another court ruling against her activities in running the election in this state.

From the Ohio Republican Party's web site:

Friday, October 10, 2008

Secretary of State appeals ruling, fights effort to validate registrations

(Columbus) - A federal court ruled tonight that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner violated federal election laws by not taking adequate steps to validate the identity of newly registered voters.

The ruling from U.S. District Court Judge George C. Smith called the identification breakdown "a serious problem" and ordered Brunner to immediately comply with federal requirements to match voter registration data with the information in the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration databases. The court accused Brunner of failing to provide county election administrators with "an effective way to access and review mismatches." She immediately appealed the ruling.

"For some reason, Jennifer Brunner does not want these new registrations checked," said Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine. "Her refusal to comply with federal law raises serious concerns about her ability to objectively oversee this election. It's especially troubling in light of her connection to ACORN and that group's stunning confession this week of fraudulent registration activity happening right here in Ohio."

Brunner's effort to fight the court order comes just two days after the Democrat activist group ACORN admitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections that the group engages in fraudulent voter registration activity.

Ohio ACORN officials "blamed the elections board for not scrutinizing ACORN's suspicious cards," claiming the group "can't be expected to catch everything."

ACORN is facing similar inquires in other Ohio counties as well as 10 other states. Members of the group's "voter-mobilization arm," Project Vote, regularly advise Brunner on election strategy, even recently issuing a news release that claims credit for Brunner's directive restricting challenges to suspected fraudulent voter registrations. Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama also has strong ties to ACORN, working previously as an attorney and "leadership trainer" for the group.

Unfortunately, the media is in the tank for Obama, and the Democrat Party, and has done very little reporting of this story to aid in the concept of an honest election.

Michelle Malkin has done quite a bit of blogging on this topic and I have seen her a few times on TV.

It appears that the results of this election are already in serious doubt in Ohio and probably many other states.

Why the Media Hates Sarah Palin

The media is throwing an absolute fit over the McCain choice for VP.

After all, she doesn't have much experience, right? How dare experience not be the number one consideration for a Vice President, right? I mean, my gosh, look at Joe Biden. He's been in the Senate since Nixon was in office and look at his long list of accomplishments, right?

And Obama? I mean he was a .....community organizer after all. You surely can't count his experience in the US Senate as he has been running for office since being elected and has no accomplishments whatsoever.

And all she has been is a governor. I mean all governors do is .....manage states? And govern?

But the real reason the media hates this pick is because she is a woman and Obama did not pick The Woman. Yeah, they have a strong hatred towards any conservative in general but the gender is the most important reason here.

Why, because she is a woman? You thought they liked women running for high office, right? Well, yeah, if it's the Democrats "making history". Not a Republican "making history" when the Democrats have just turned down the greatest woman alive, without even considering her for Vice President.

Every day, Sarah Palin is going to be out campaigning and reminding all the voters across the country that the Democrats would not allow The Hillary to even be the VP on the "history making" ticket. Sure Obama won the top spot in an election but Hillary was not good enough to even be Vice President.

And that is why the media is going to criticize her night and day.

All you had to do was turn on Chris Matthews the day of the announcement and see the sour look and hear the negativity.

She surely is a great choice for many reasons, but it's a certainty she is going to have a hard time getting a fair chance in this environment.

Democrat Congress...Scorecard

Well, here we are about 16 months into that new Democrat controlled Congress. The media sure seemed excited when they were running for office in the 2006 election. It was a revolution for sure. Imagine if we could rein in some of the recklessness of Bush. What a wonderful world it could be.

And these guys had such lofty.....promises.

Aren't promises wonderful? People walked in polling booths all over America and threw the bums (read...republicans) out. Democrats were given control of both houses of Congress. I remember four main thrusts of their promise to "change" the way we do things here in America.

Number one of course, was the promise to end the Iraq war. How are they doing on that? Well, they have since voted twice to fund increased levels of troops. Oh well, so they lied about their biggest and best reasons to be granted the power to govern. And of course they are still continuing to lie saying they can't stop the war without the President and other Republicans helping them. If the spending bills are not brought up and voted on the war has to stop. It runs out of money, plain and simple. Hopefully you realize how bad you've been swindled.

The goal never was to stop the war. The goal was to continue the war, bash Bush, and use the war to campaign for the next election.

They promised to end corruption in government. That bit the dust with Nancy Pelosi's very first law on minimum wage that exempted companies that she and her husband own from being part of the law. Certainly not an end to corruption. Maybe what Ted Kennedy would simply call "new management". Oh yeah, earmarks and pork barrel spending? Now at their highest levels in history.

Hillary Clinton said if you want lower gas prices you need to elect Democrats. Well we did. Screwed again eh? Gas prices now at their highest levels in history.

Do you remember these Democrats just ranting and raving and promising to rein in the Bush spending? Anyone noticed how we are doing on that? It would appear that we are going to have the largest deficit in the history of the country this year.

So every promise broken and even worse governance then we got under the Republicans.

On the bright side of things we got that minimum wage bill and congressional oversight of....baseball!!!

More Liberal Crap...

...this time in the San Francisco Bay.

Anyone besides me getting tired of being lectured to by the likes of Al Gore and the rest of these liberal "environmentalists" that are constantly spreading alarmist news concerning pollution, meanwhile constantly showing blatant disregard for the environment? Oh you thought those were voluntary contributions to people with big hearts? Perhaps you think John Edwards really does care about poor people? Hillary is just a dedicated public servant?

This is just one small tale of corruption, and certainly typical associated to the name Clinton.

The story goes like this:

Joel Rosenman, one of the original promoters of the original Woodstock concert, and a major fat cat Democratic contributor, loans a guy named Norman Hsu, $40 million. Yeah, that $40,000,000.

Now, Norma Hsu, besides being a fugitive from justice and a major Democratic fund raiser, is really focused on fund raising for one former First Lady's run for the White House, Hillary Clinton. I know that some well informed Katie Couric follower's are going to find this hard to believe but there is a deep suspicion out there that Norman Hsu actively worked to get some of the $40,000,000 into the Hillary for President campaign. Hillary has already agreed to give back $850,000. And, of course, the amount he has laundered into her campaign is so enormous that he has to "bundle it" through other donors in a highly illegal operation.

Imagine how shocked Bill Clinton was when he learned of this? Oh, and by the way, Norman Hsu last year gave $75,000 to the University of Arkansas's Clinton School of Public Service. I guess I'm just hangin' with the wrong people. These are real friends.

Anyway, here's the real kicker.

Currently the Congress is putting together the Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Bill. This bill has 1,016 earmarks totaling nearly $392 million. Yeah, that $392,000,000. A lot of money to anyone that has to to earn it. You can download the entire list here. I warn you though in advance, this is not for the faint of heart when you see the government boondoggling borrowed money with such reckless abandon. Just as an aside, if you go through this list you will notice that the University of Arkansas's Clinton School of Public Service has an earmark of $1,000,000. Yee Haw.

Anyway, in this earmark list, you guessed it, Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer have put in a request (one among many) for $1,000,000 for....something important?

A Woodstock museum. Kinda anti climatic huh? I mean you would think that the party that is doing away with corruption, cleaning up earmarks, and deeply offended by the national debt would probably resist borrowing money for something as ridiculous as a Woodstock Museum.

But, and here is where the circle closes, it makes Joel Rosenman happy. You know, the guy that loaned Norman Hsu the $40,000,000 of which a substantial part of ended up in the Clinton's pockets. And, one of the original promoters of the Woodstock Music Festival.

Recap:

1. Democrat crony Rosenman loans Democrat crony Hsu $40,000,000.
2. Fugitive Hsu distributes money to Democrats to give to Democratic campaigns.
3. Criminally inclined Hillary Clinton receives large amounts of money from the $40,000,000.
4. Master lawbreaker Hillary Clinton spends taxpayer money on Rosenman cause as payback.

In effect, taxpayer money has been laundered into the Clinton campaign.

Now you know how big government really works.

Democrats Fix Vote

You know the party that's always accusing the Republicans of cheating on votes, well until they start actually winning the votes? They actually "fixed" a vote the other night right on the floor of the House of Representatives.

From The Wall Street Journal:

Monday, August 6, 2007 12:01 a.m. EDT

The House of Representatives almost turned into the Fight Club Thursday night, when Democrats ruled that a GOP motion had failed even though, when the gavel fell, the electronic score board showed it winning 215-213 along with the word FINAL. The presiding officer, Rep. Mike McNulty (D., N.Y.), actually spoke over the clerk who was trying to announce the result.

In the ensuing confusion several members changed their votes and the GOP measure to deny illegal aliens benefits such as food stamps then trailed 212-216. Boiling-mad Republicans stormed off the floor. The next day, their fury increased when they learned electronic records of the vote had disappeared from the House's voting system.

Read the fully story here.

Ain't it great constantly hearing about how corrupt the Bush administration is? I mean they are spying, without warrants, on our enemy that Congress has declared war on. Thank god for the honesty and integrity of the Democratic Party.

By the way, Cindy Sheehan (in the picture above) has nothing to do with this story. I needed a picture of Nancy P for this blog and I find it quite amusing that she has this picture on her web site. Kind of odd since Sheehan has now vowed to run against her because she feels Nancy is not doing her job.

Democrat Priorities??

This week I was home from work sick with a migraine. I turned on C-span and Bill Clinton was giving a speech. It's really incredible the world view of the Democratic Party. And, you must admit this guy probably represents his party fairly well. He's not a Michael Moore loud mouth. Though Michael Moore is becoming more and more mainstream in this party, but that is another topic.

Anyway, Bill recommends that we make incandescent light bulbs illegal.

Let me see if I have this right. In their continual denial of a war on Islamic terrorists, and massive attempts to downplay this as anything more then a George Bush invention, they believe we have gone too far in our fight. They maintain the following ideas:

The Democratic Party believes Saddam Hussein should still be in power, despite the fact that Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and Al Gore all claimed he was a madman with nuclear weapons.

The Democratic Party believes that Guantanamo should be shut down as a prison for the some of the most violent terrorists on the planet. And we should bring those prisoners onto American soil and give them full access to our legal system!!!

The Democratic Party believes that the war on terrorism is a merely a bumper sticker slogan.

The Democratic Party believes that secret prisons in Europe used to house terrorists is an outrageous practice.

The Democratic Party believes that if a war time president listens in on phone calls of the enemy he is destroying the constitution. And yes, of course, they have properly outed this program to eliminate is as an effective tool against terrorism.

The Democratic Party believes that outing a secret program tracing international monetary transactions that are funding terrorism is a good idea.

But yet an important idea for them is making incandescent light bulbs illegal in America. Wow. If the world were so simple everybody could be a Democrat. Of course we would all now either be growing beards or wearing a face veil here in the real world. And more importantly, the liberals in America would be explaining to their new Islamic leaders the value of abortion and homosexual rights.

Needless to say, watching Bill Clinton did not help my headache.

Rudy Giuliani.....Unacceptable

I've already made up my mind. No way will I ever vote for this guy. Not now, not ever.

Rudy Giuliani is currently leading in the polls, among Republicans, in what appears to be the biggest bunch of misfits ever assembled in history trying to be President of the United States.

This guy is not a Republican. If he is, I'm not a Republican. He's a liberal that was mayor of New York City on 9/11 and somehow this makes him uniquely qualified to be President of the United States. By the way, don't even bother with his website. If you are looking for his position on issues he has a few lines on each that sound so non-committed they could have been written by Bill Clinton. All right lets get down to a few specifics.

1. Gun Control - Rudy was a firm gun control liberal as mayor of New York. He jumped on the band wagon with the Brady Campaign to sue gun makers out of existence. Rudy claimed he supports hunters rights though. That's always the clue to a John Kerry position on gun control which is ban as many as you can and then go duck hunting when you run for office. I have never mistaken the Second Amendment for a declaration of hunters rights and any candidate that does just doesn't get it.

2. Abortion - Rudy is a pro choice Republican. And he's quite confusing on the issue. Again, he borrows a page from the Bill Clinton "speak out of both sides of your mouth" book. From the 2007 debate at the Reagan library:

Q: You became very well known for standing up against the use of public funds for what many people considered indecent exhibits at the Brooklyn museum and places like that. Why do you support the use of public funds for abortion?
A: I don't. I support the Hyde amendment. I hate abortion. I wish people didn't have abortions.

I supported it in New York, but I think, in other places, people can come to a different decision.
If you hate it, why support it?

3. Illegal Immigration - Believe it or not Rudy doesn't even address this critical issue on his website. That alone is quite telling. He doesn't want to tell you where he stands. That means he stands with, you guessed it, the Democrats.

In April 2006, Giuliani went on the record as favoring the US Senate's comprehensive immigration plan which includes a path to citizenship and a guest worker plan. So if you are in favor of an open southern border, any person passing back and forth at any time, the American taxpayer paying their medical, education, and welfare bills while they are here Rudy is your guy.

And here you thought the main reason to vote for him was defense of the United States.

If you can hold your nose enough to look past these positions for long enough to pull the Rudy lever you are a better person then me. What's going to get me enthused about voting is a difference in the candidates, besides their party title.

Levin, Giving Away the USA

Reuters is reporting today that President Bush and the Democratic Congress are very close to an agreement on free trade pacts with Peru, Colombia and Panama. What's striking is the language used by our government to persuade us to abandon our sovereignty.

Senator Carl Levin, Democratic Senator from Michigan, states:

"A foreign government could only challenge a labor practice that it believes gives the United States an unfair trade advantage."

He is talking about a US labor practice codified in US law.

What he is saying is that he agrees with the concept that a foreign government can challenge the laws of the United States. And of course, these free trade agreements always create international bodies that allow this to happen.

This is not a new concept for our government to be throwing us over a cliff in this fashion. Bill Clinton really got the ball rolling on this with NAFTA and GATT. An international body called the WTO (World Trade Organization) was created out of the GATT agreement. This is an organization that meets in secret and determines the validity of countries making claims on the unfairness of American laws.

Many blame Ronald Reagan for this WTO fiasco but the WTO was not part of the original intentions of his free trade administration. The WTO was created at the end of the GATT rounds. Its purpose is to provide a global executive branch that would judge a country's compliance with the rules, enforce the rules with sanctions, and provide the legislative capacity to expand the rules in the future.

That's the kind of guidance our legislators think we need over our Democracy in order to have "free trade" with other countries. Sounds like anything but free to me.

Carl Levin thinks it would be " hypocritical to include a safe harbor provision ensuring U.S. laws could not be challenged at all".

"A safe harbor sends the wrong message to what we're about," Levin said.

You know, I like the idea that the US is a "safe harbor" in this world. Carl Levin disagrees and unfortunately he has the power to change that.

Funny too, when you go to Carl Levin's web site, and look at his lengthy list of issues, he doesn't mention this one. I wonder why?

Harry Traitor Reid

Harry Reid, in what seems to be a diplomatic outreach to Osama Bin Laden, declared yesterday that "This war is lost".

Isn't it just remarkable that this Congress can't find anything constructive to do? No problems that fall within their domain to work on?

At the very least could they get through the day without being a traitor to their country? No way this is not aid and comfort to the enemy.

The American dollar is being wrecked with government debt. No one is working on this problem. Could we at least get "The dollar is lost" and Reid could let us officially know he is giving up on that? Is it really unreasonable to ask Chuck Schumer to do the work of the people rather then spend every bit of his energy and time investigating legitimately fired attorneys? I got to think, this has to be way down on the list of priorities.

Social Security, a government program created by Congress, is the largest scam and upcoming train wreck in the history of socialism. Reid doesn't have time for this. Well, that's not completely true. He did take the time out over the last few years when Bush was working on this to make sure nothing was accomplished on this massive problem. And his goal wasn't to stop some wild plan of Bush's. His massive effort was to insure that nothing happened. I guess not working on Social Security frees up his time to advise the president on surrender.

Medicare, another government program, is a total disaster. Reid didn't mention that. Nancy Pelosi has spent more time meeting with terrorists, and accomplishing nothing positive, then working on this problem. Do they all think they are the president?

Most of the Congressional Democrats claim they believe the world is going to end because of Global Warming. Frankly, I think it's nothing but a Gore scam, but if you thought the world was coming to an end would you really be working on raising the minimum wage.

I think the Congress is lost. The voters that put this bunch in power are surely lost. The war lost? Reid may be right only because he is fighting against us and his words are powerful weapons.

Global Warming Theory is Suspicious

All right, here we go. Take a deep breath and step back from the fray for a minute and let's look at some of the evidence being thrown our way from the Global Warming crowd.

There certainly is rudimentary evidence out there that the weather has changed over the last few years and maybe even gotten warmer. But the correlation between a seemingly warmer trend and man made catastrophe is certainly not established.

A main point to consider though is the suspicious nature of the debate itself. This discussion reeks of corrupt politics. Consider the following points:

1. Al Gore as the Global Warming Messiah

This is a very ambitious guy that has been crusading against industry for a long time. His book Earth in the Balance (1992) suggested that we phase out the internal combustion engine. From the book:

"We now know that their cumulative impact on the global environment is posing a mortal threat to the security of every nation that is more deadly than that of any military enemy are ever again likely to confront. ... I support new laws to mandate improvement in automobile fleet mileage, but much more is needed. ... it ought to be possible to establish a coordinated global program to accomplish the strategic goal of completely eliminating the internal combustion engine over, say, a twenty-five-year period...." (page 325-326)

Yikes, the internal combustion engine is more "deadly then that of any military enemy". Honestly, I have no problem with with a replacement, environmentally friendly engine. But blaming a piece of hardware that has been the centerpiece of prosperity helping build the greatest standard of living the planet has ever seen seems to indicate another agenda to me. But then I am suspicious by nature.

Without completely rehashing the recent reports of Al Gores personal power usage he has certainly defined the Global Warming crisis as a problem that does not affect him personally. If I thought that civilization, as we know it, were ending, I believe I would be able to make a few sacrifices. Al is not willing to do this. I think that is very suspicious.

He has also help form a company called Generation Investment Management LLP. If the Global Warming crusade of his is a success he stands to make money. A lot of money. Huge amounts of money. Suspicious?

2. The UN involvement in Global Warming

Wow. The UN wants to be at the center of the Global Warming debate. The largest gang of global criminals and terrorist supporters ever assembled is spearheading the scientific interpretation of the planet's changing weather. The latest report out of the UN calls for a 4% global tax on all energy consuming sources. Now you know. The reason the weather is changing is because the UN does not yet have the global tax system they have been trying to implement for a very long time.

Let me see if I have the logic correctly.

The planet's weather may be changing.

The solution to "fix" the changing weather is to pay the UN enormous sums of tax money.

The UN is a legitimate source of information concerning the changing weather.

Again, maybe I am just an overly suspicious individual. The money will probably only be used for good?

3. The Lies

The polar bears stranded on ice bergs has been exposed as a lie as to its conclusions. The famous photo was taken 2 1/2 years prior to its use showing some polar bears playing on an iceberg within swimming distance of the shoreline. It was later released, the day after the UN put out another dire Global Warming prediction, and then used as propaganda by Al Gore. If Global Warming is real why do we have to be told lies to get us to accept it?

Mark Albright, Washington’s assistant state meteorologist, was fired from his job for telling the truth. When Seattle's mayor wrote a factually incorrect column about the snow levels on the northern Cascade Mountains, he was corrected by this now unemployed meteorologist. Read a great recap of the story here. Hey, why listen to a meteorologist when you can get a scientific view from the mayor.

This is just a small list of lies to get you started, and hopefully arouse suspicion. Here's a nice paper on some more false information being spread on global warming.

4. Scientific Consensus

You have heard this over and over again. There is scientific consensus about man made Global Warming. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth.

A great example of this exaggeration is Naomi Oreskes's (professor of history) paper in the journal Science. She claims to have analyzed 928 abstracts on global climate change and 75% of them purport to acknowledge that Global Warming is a man made event. An analysis of her work by Benny Peiser (Faculty of Science at Liverpool's John Moores University) "discovered that just over a dozen explicitly endorse the "consensus," while the vast majority of abstracts does not mention anthropogenic global warming".

Just over a dozen? Out of 928? Consensus?

Benny Peiser continues "An unbiased analysis of the peer-reviewed literature on global warming will find hundreds of papers (many of them written by the world’s leading experts in the field) that have raised serious reservations and outright rejection of the concept of a "scientific consensus on climate change."

Read the link from Wikipedia for more suspicious behavior on this scientific consensus.

There is much more suspicious activity out there. The media's one sided behavior, suppression of information by scientists that disagree, the quick switch in the 70's from Global Cooling to Global Warming, and much more. I say examine the messenger carefully. They seem to be suspicious to me.

We need the UN to inform us that Global Warming will hit the poor the hardest?

Of course, the latest and greatest head line in the continuing Global Warming crusade is the conclusion by the UN that the poor will be the hardest hit by rising temperatures. On the surface that certainly sounds reasonable to me. The poor are always the hardest hit by bad events.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) chairman, Rajendra Pachauri, said in launching the latest report: " The poorest of the poor in the world - and this includes poor people in prosperous societies - are going to be the worst hit. People who are poor are least able to adapt to climate change."

We need the UN for this? Was money really spent to draw this conclusion?

A few weeks ago we were well on the way to this conclusion thanks to the leading advocate of the man made Global Warming theory, Al Gore.

You see, we know that Al Gore is a guy that believes that catastrophic, life altering events, are in the near future of this planet. And yet, in his own personal life he is doing nothing to help stop this. At his home in Tennessee we have learned that Al uses 20 times the electricity that most Americans use. If you are a Global Warming alarmist you might easily conclude that he is the problem.

But, it has never occurred to him that a wealthy elitist, like himself, would have to share in the solution to what he believes is the largest problem faced by mankind.

He stated to Congress recently that “Our world faces a true planetary emergency."

Emergency?

Does anyone really think that Al is acting like there is an emergency?

Of course the Al for president supporters will tell you that Al is working on reducing his giant footprint. He works in his house. He buys offsets. He does more good then harm.

If you don't draw the conclusion that Al is so much of a wealthy elitist that he won't swallow his own medicine, then you have to conclude he doesn't believe the theory at all.

So why is the media going hysterical over the lesson Al Gore has already demonstrated?
